I am new to the tractor owners club and have a few questions if smeone could help me out. I have a gas 464 and was wondering if anyone knew if k and N makes an air filter for this tractor or where could I find a cross reference for a Fram or other filter other than from my local IH dealer who won't give me a modle # unless I spend $35.00 for an IH filter and then I can get the # off of it to cross reference on my own? And what engine oil is recomended for these tractors.

Go for the IH filter. For that $35, you'll get a servicable filter that will last about 5 years.

ED, I don't know if K&N makes filters for tractors, I doubt it. There may be after market filters but you cannot beat original IH products. I complain about the price sometimes too but they are a reliable place to get parts. As for the engine oil, I run 30 wt in all my tractors, Diesel and LP year round. Depending on what climate you are in. You are gonna want to look for a manual or two for your tractor also. Bare minimum a IT shop manual but a operators manual and even a IH parts catalog and service manual is recommended if you plan on keeping and using your tractor for a while. Good luck with your new machine.
