This might be a dumb question, but I have a Farmall 560 Diesel that i just purchased along with an allied loader, model 485. I have had trouble with inadequite lifting strength and also the bucket will not stay in position when down. I have drained all fluids and replaced with new, checked o rings on control valves and dont want to dig into the pump unless i have to. Is this loader too large for this tractor? Or is the pump just too weak or tired. Also the fast hitch cylinder works fine. Picks back end of tractor off ground with back blade and can lift a 3/4 ton pick up off the ground with the back blade. Seperate pump for the fast hitch?? HELP!!!!

If you can lift the tractor with hitch I would check loader cylinders first to see that the seals are ok then the valves on tractor may be leaking if loader will lidt a good load you might put on check valve or maybe it has check valve and it is bad. switch the loader lift to where you have bucket and bucket to loader and see if anyting changes. or let loader down and disconect bucket and lift loader and let set for a shot time to see if bucket goes down if so seal in cylinder bad.

I had the same problem with my 560 with great bend loader. This is what I did to get maximum lift from loader. 1. Rebuilt touch control values. Pat are from local IH dealer. 2. changed Hydro fluid. 3. new hydro filter, (WIX part number 51469). 4. replace hydro pump. loader works great. I use the loader to lift the front of the tractor and the fast hitch to lift the back of the tractor,no problem.
