I remember a few weeks ago about a conversation on here about a Fast Hitch on a Super C raising and lowering slow. What did everyone decide caused it. I just got done restoring my Super C and it does the same thing.

Andrew, I think that was my fast hitch you're thinking of. It raised fine, took forever to lower. The problem was in the drop retard valve on platform ahead of seat.

Someone on here named potosi told me that one of the hose ports on that valve would smaller than the other three , and to drill it out. I had 1 big port, about 7/16, 1 cross drilled so i could'nt drill that one, and 2 ports about 3/16. I could'nt figure out which one he meant so I drilled both small ports to about 3/8. Now it's about the same speed up or down and the hitch does'nt leak down. Make sure the spool valve on the right side moves freely & has a good o'ring. Good luck.

Thanks

By the spool valve do you mean the valve on the side of the touch control unit? Did you have to change the seal in it? Mine has a somewhat leaky seal at the top and the seal I got at Case IH wont fit in there and the seal I got is what all the part numbers in the parts manual cross to.

I mean the valve behind the plug on right side of that drop retard valve ahead of seat platform. I thought the control valve on right side of touch control housing just had an o'ring in it, can't remember. Mine does'nt leak since I had it apart about 10 yrs. ago.
