First, every body thinks the idle and main fuel screws "ADJUST AIR" ---not the case....when you turn the screws in and out you are adjusting how much gas can pass thruugh.....
turning the idle mixture screw in,gives it less gas....Take the screw out and make sure you haven't tightened it into the seat to tight and messed up the surface ,check the point....if you see a gruve or a burr, it and the seat must be replaced..... if it looks OK try this ....gently blow air at about 35# into the hole (WATCH YOUR EYES)...now gently put the screwback in...all the way but not tight back screw out one full turn ....start engine and set the throttle at a fast idle.....now set the idle stop on the carb at this fastidle speed.....put hand throttle all the waw back down.....now the engine should be at fast idle.....turn low speed screw slowly in until the engine starts to run rough....back it out until it starts to run rough.....Turn it in and out slowly until the engine runs the, fastes and the smothest..... now adjust the idle speed you want..... ..buy the way ,you adjust the main jet screw the same way.... with the engine at full throttle..... .good luck
