(Although some no-name got ugly when Fireman did a little well-earned bragging a couple of days ago, coming around to my 36th wedding anniversary is worth the risk of upsetting him again.)
If you know what I'm talking about, then you know what I'm talking about: to have found a friend and helpmate, a lover, a confessor and confidant who now lately tolerates and sometimes celebrates my coming in to lunch smelling of Blaster and solvents, and indulges my expensive little trips to the CaseIH parts dealer,... getting and being and staying married for three dozen years is just a pretty doggone good thing!
It is, I suppose, like finding an old M out along a fence row and taking it home and pulling it into the shed and discovering, a little at a time, that beneath the grease and gunk and grime it is a thing of awesome proportion and great beauty!
We're off to The Big City to celebrate!
RedTed/MO,... (and Mrs. RedTed)

JEEZ Guys! This board is fantastic! I was just surfing here and started trying to figure how long I had been married and realized today is our 37th anniversity. I really need to log off and go buy a card! At least this is a "no present year" we drive to Alaska this Friday for our celebration. Thanks you're life savers (and offer some good IH advice as well!) Congratulations Ted you and your better half have many more happy ones together. Marg and I are comming up on our 37 on the 19th. If I look at list of guys who posted before me, old iron doesn't seem too hard on marriage. I take a lot more heat for time I spend on here chewing the rag with you guys. She says she is also glad I found a hobby as she was afraid I would never do that.

I know this is O.T., but you folks here don't seem to mind as much as some over on the "Brand JD" board.

Hugh - I'm glad you found this hobby - if you hadn't, I'd have never met you and got the address of that wonderful cheese factory in Upper Economy, Nova Scotia!!

I hope things are going well for you and yours.

Best regards,

Stan

Stan: It is time we shared with all antique tractor guys how to have Nova Scotia Cheeze in Florida for Christmas, with four days notice. I will tell the Farmall guys you can bring it to the Deere guys. Stan and I met on YT discussion forums. I was born any lived in Nova Scotia for many Years. Stan was raised in Indianna and now lives in Florida.

On Dec 18, 01 Stan sent me an e-mail saying while on vacation in Nova Scotia summer of 01 he purchased some specialty cheeze from an establishment in Economy, Nova Scotia, called the Damn Dutchman. He wanted to order some more cheeze but couldn't find these people in the Yellow Pages. Could I help? I thought I knew who the Damn Dutchman was but not 100% sure. I soon established the man's name was Willem van den Hoek. I e-mailed Stan this info along with Mr. van den Hoek's phone number.

Two days later I get another e-mail from Stan, good news he started these Nova Scotians will make a delivery to Florida in time for Christmas; sort of. As it turns out the van den Hoeks were flying to Florida for Christmas. They made connections with Stan in Florida and BINGO, Stan and his good better half had the cheeze for Christmas.

All this possible because two guys got in discussion on antique tractor forums.

Hugh,

So true, except that the Van den hoeks drove to Florida - 36 hours straight through, as I remember. Good folk, those Nova Scotians, and Hugh is one of the best!!

I'm late out here on the left coast but wanted to pass on my congrats! Mrs FB & I will have our 35th this Nov. Told her we'd have to go square dancing with the H and the SC to celebrate. Wait...that may not be such a good idea. we don't even square dance without tractors! But we sure have fun doing other stuff together. Hope you enjoyed the celebration of the beginning of the next 36 years together.//FB

Congradulations. I'm only working my way towards #2 but I know what you're talking about. My wife is not to wild about the way I come in the house sometimes, but she knows it will wash off plus when I take tractors to shows I have to make sure I load the 'C'. (It's her favorite tractor)

Congrats, RedTed. A Cub or A would make the wife a dandy anniversary gift! I am always happy to hear about the good fortune of my friends on the board here, IH related or not. God Bless you all! Fireman
