Ran the SC today and everything worked fine. Shut her down and tried restarting it about 5 mins later. As soon as I pull out the on/off switch the ampmeter pegs (Slams)to the neg side. I've tried to narrow it down with test equipment but can't seem to locate the problem. Any help out there? Almost hairless!

I'd check and see if the points in the voltage reg aren't sticking. sometimes a little tap on the cover will set things straight.

Thanks Howard, I tried that and they were okay. Turned out the Ampmeter had shorted out internally. Guess I should've expected that it's only 51 years old. Replaced the meter and all is normal and a-OK!. Will take a month to grow back all the hair I lost over that one...FB
