I was looking for the serial # on my 200. The only number I have found on the block so far was behind the oil filter. The number was 354898 R. This number is much higher than the numbers listed on the serial # page here. Can someone tell me where to find the serial # if this is not it? If this is it, what year model is it? Thanks for all your help!

jtwaldo: Potosi's right: the chassis serial number plate on the 200s is on left side of the clutch housing. The number you posted -- 354898 R -- is the parts number. You can also confirm an assembly year by finding the casting date codes on any/all of the big pieces: engine block and deck/transmission cover are two quick places to look for a dd/mm/(year) code. The year will be a letter: Z=1954, A=1955, B=1956. Good luck. RedTed/MO.

If it's like a Super C, and I think it is, the tractor serial number is below the seat, stamped on a data plate.
The engine number should be stamped on a raised flat place, cast into the block, below #1 sparkplug, kind of behind the distributor.
