I recently purchased a 1954 International 300 Utility. It did not have a grill when purchased. I have since bought a grill and am currently painting the sheet metal. I have seen pictures of the tractor with both a white and red grill. Does anyone know what the factory paint was on the grill for this tractor?
Thank You for any help

Maybe some one put 350 Utility grill on you 300 Utility . From what I have read 300 Utility 1955-56 and 350 Utility an Improved version with White Trim 1957-58 . My Dad had a 300 Utility . Definatly all red except the rims .

I have a 300U that I got from the original owner. He has never had it painted. The grill is white. It was that way from the factory. he swears it. Says the dealer he bought it from, in Terry Montana, had no way of painting except with a brush, and this was not painted with a brush. It also has silver painted rims. Go figure.

The 300 International Utility was made in 1955 and 1956 only and they were all red except for the silver rear rims. Serial numbers for 1955 were 501 through 20218, for 1956 they were 20219 through 33664. There were no factory painted white 300 utilities.

My '55 300-U has a red grille. I think they were red both years...'55, and '56.

You sure it's a '54? My limited research tells me they were only made in '55 and '56. I just bought one with serial # 26935 J and I believe it to be a '56 although the previous owner registered it as a '57. (?)

I have a 300U And was told thats its a 54 but have never checked #'s to be sure. My tractor has a white grill also and by the condition of the paint I'd have to say it's original. I'm no expert so please correct me if i'm wrong.

from all I have ever seen in books and stuff I think the factory atleast intended it to be all red, a few true white ones could be around but they could also have been very late ones that the dealer painted to sell them, to match the new models.

Thanks guys for the input, I am now heading to the paint booth to paint the grill RED. Yes Les the tractor probably is a 1955, the dealer I bought it from said it was a 54, but research tells me that these were only manufactured in '55 & '56. Thanks again
