The engine on my A has C-123 cast on the block by the mag, so I thought it was a 123 engine. When I tore it down, The sleeves measure 3 5/16 at the seal area. I thought it was a 123 engine but it must be a 113. Also I had to grind the crank 20 on the rods and 30 on the mains. Is that OK or should I think about another crank? Mike

What does the bore measure? If 3.0 inches then 113. If 3.25 inch then 123. I have a engine with place for hydralic pump and I know it is a 113.

The Bore measures 3 1/8 but you can get sleeves for a 113 that are that size. I think it must be a 113, but I dont know why the block has C-123 cast into it. Thanks Mike

Your crank will be fine. These tractors are tough and overbuilt for thier power.

Does the engine have place for hydraulic pump under the ignition. If it does is a 123 engine, a 113 block has no place to mount a pump.

Yes, there is a place where it looks like a pump could go. There is a cover over it, but when you take the cover off you can see the gear. But when I ordered sleeves for the engine, they told me to measure the seal area of the sleeve. If it was 3 5/16 it was for a 113, if it was 3 7/16 it was a 123 and mine is 3 5/16. whats going on????

Starting in '48 Super A's and C's had C-113 engines with a hydraulic pump. Sounds like you have one of those blocks on your A.
I don't know why it would have 123 cast on the block.
