One of the reasons that I never liked my Dad's MTA was the brakes, yesterday I disassembled them, sandblasted all parts except the discs , and treated the parts with phosphoric acid, primed and painted the parts, assembled the ramps and balls with white grease, replaced the discs, now they work good ! Boy,now for that steering, don't want to put power steering on it, some guys have and they love em,any options?

Congrats on the brakes. Do all your repair jobs work as you hoped? About power steering on SMTA, the older you get the more practical it becomes. My SMTA front end is being overhauled by an old IHC mechanic. An H upper bolster that he rehabed costs $150, expect the SMTA may costs twice that.
