I have a Farmall A that after about 45 minutes of running real nice, just quit. Now when you try to start it, it gives a couple of chugs and dies again. Also the smoke looks white coming from the exhaust. It has new plugs and points. It was also recently overhauled but then sat for a number of years. The tractor cranks real good and always started and ran nice.

It sounds like gas to me. The Super M will sometimes have bowl problems and once you get it running it can suck down enough fuel to idle, but it won't do any work. Then if it stalls it will just pop and try to start, but won't actually start.
Try emptying the fuel bowl and then see if fuel runs into it real good. It should fill up real fast, with the fuel running in a stream, if it's just drips or spurts listen to the tank and if you can hear air bubbles your having the same trouble I am. Then come back here and explain and ask again.

White smoke is indicative of burning antifreeze. Check the condition of your plugs, they may be wet and fouled and though they may appear to be good, they may be bad. Also sounds like you may have a fuel problem that could be several different potential problems. Keep us posted.

New doesn't always mean good. Start with the simple stuff first. Make sure you have good spark (condensers can cause curious problems and give real headaches), then make sure you are getting gas. Hopefully it will be something simple. Good luck.
