This is my favorite tractor. it has a M&W rocket governor on it, plus i turned the rpm's up to 2200 or so. I never run it that fast for more than a min or 2 and not very often. It was not desinged to run that fast, but i kike the extra ooomph. It comes in helpful when you need a extra boost! Good strong m&w clutch..... It has the M&W friction throttle that works great as it won't slip at all and is very easy to operate... They don't hit the stearing wheel post when you floor it. I love hearing that governor kick in. she sure snorts and always seams to have enough power for the job! enjoy!

I kept it origanal with the u shaped drawbar with roller. i had the option to buy one for it but i wanted to keep it like it was from factory. i wish it was still six volt but it has been changed to 12. it even has a hour meter on it.

Jonnnny ain't that what the rocket governor does is increases the rpms? I put one in Brad Marshall's SMTA and it would turn 2700 rpms. Would run what seemed like 35 MPH. He had it hooked to 3 irrigation guns and it was slinging water. He sold it to a guy and it burned up in the Boone-Kenton warehouse fire in Florence KY.

this is the only rocket gov i have operated. i think it is alot more sensitive then regular and it dosent bogg nearly as much as one without. my spring might be worn a bit. It is a 10 or 11 rocket. i cant remember which. that clutch on it is sweet! you can take off in 5th with the throttle low and it works great. i only do this when it is on level ground with no load. it takes right off. plus i love the brakes they will lock up on tar if you wish. i don't recomend locking up the tires as it can be dangerous especally withe narrow front, as it can pull hard to the side! some don't like the disk brakes but keep them adjudted right and they work awesome!

The Rocket Gov. was not made by M&W it was made buy Thompson. the M&W gov. is called the add'ed P'ower gov. they are built alittle diffrent. I have the Thompson one.

Jonnnny lots of folks don't like the disc brakes because they won't take the time to service them. If they are kept clean and properly adjusted they do work quite well. The only big difference I noticed on the 2 or 3 rocket governors I have been around was an increase in engine speed.
