I am thinking about buying a1955 Cub and have some questions (sn192269) First is the grill suppose to be white or red? I have seen pictures both ways. next how do you check the oil level in it,I have not seen a dipstick or the petcocks on he oil pan (like my Super A has) and last it has a 42 in Woods bellymower on it and the whole outfit seems to be inreal good condition,Is $1500.00 a reasonable price?
Thanks

I'm looking for a 3 or 5 bar grill that will fit my 1949 Farmall Cub. Any suggestions?

The dipstick is supposed to be riveted to the oil breather cap behind the carburetor on the left side of the engine.

You've "seen them both ways," no. The ones with the white grilles are 1957-1958 models. Cub grille styles changed along with the bigger tractors after 1954.

Also the correct grill is the 11 bar.

Grille is Red. Oil check is part of the oil fill cap located near the carb. $1500 is a good price if you're buying, not so good if selling. I wouldn't take twice that for my 1955 cub.

Hood panels and grill are red, dipstick is right behind carb. 1500 is very reasonable assuming it is in running order without major faults.
