OK,let me try explaining this again.I restored this tractor about a year and a half ago, anyway had to split again (other problems). Then I noticed METAL SHAVINGS from the not so old throw out bearing maybe 1 year old.The clutch\ta was adj per the book at the time of the new bearing, clutch, and pressure plate were installed.Everthing seemed to work fine.NOW I have it back together again with another new bearing and have adjusted clutch\ta per book again.Everthing seems fine.Ok now I look up through the bottom clutch inspection hole and see bearing turning all the time reguardless if clutch is in or out. Is this right or is this turning wearing the bearing out premature? Could it have been a lemon bearing? Any thoughts or help thanks sorry so long.

The throwout bearing SHOULD not be touching the fingers , there should be a air gap of about and 1/8 th inch . When working on OLD TRACTORS that have had extencive field testing and abuce ya had ware everyplace and ya can not go BY THE BOOK . Now if ya had rebuilt every woren pice and had NO play anyplace then you could go BY the book , the book is a starting point . Now with out me going out to the truck to get my bookout as off the top of my head i do not remember the free travel of the clutch pedal to start off with and since i can not see what is happening with it and where your excess ware is this is where you are going to have to study real close and make the nessary allowance for then ya will have to adjust the T/A linkage so that when the clutch is pushed down it will release the T/A pressure plate to allow easy shifting with out the T/A throwout bearing to ride on the T/A clutch fingers but still do what it is suppose to do.

I understand what ya ment but ya have to start with the main clutch and get it working and the throw out bearing not touchen the finger then ya have to get the linkage for the T/A set so here again the bearing is not toughing but still makes it disengauge . The boook was written for NEW tractor settings not old wore out settings , as i am sure that ya have excess ware on the clutch pedal and all the clevis have ware along with the headed pins and there is ware where the rod for the throw out bearing goes thru the bell housing. SOooooo this throws all the factory setting plum out the winder.
