Make sure to drill the ends of the cracks with a 1/8" drill to prevent it from traveling further prior to the JB weld.

Surface prep is key for the JB weld to bond !

I understand what you need to know. The F12 blocks crack on thewater jacket alot. Clean it up very very good and use JB weld

I have only seen 3-4 f-12s that wern't cracked on the left side. There must have been a defect in the casting design. I can't see that many of them were allowed to freeze. The one on my F-12 was welded with nickel rod and arc welder but it still leaks some when it is running. Shut it off and no drips for months.

I used JB weld on a crack in the block of my W30 more than 15 years ago and it still hasn't leaked a drop. Its a lot cheaper than finding a welder.

The analysis of the crack and selection of the best method is an on site task. If you tell us a lot more info we may be able to help.

If the crack is outside only and has both ends visible, overlapping taper plugs that screw in are my favorite. If internal and running thorugh a gasket surface, they are usually scrap. JimN
