Hello! I"m about to start work restoring a 1947 Farmall H.

Would anyone be able to tell me what origional brand tire came with that tractor (ex: Firestone/Goodyear).

Thanks for your help!

I have a 51 H that I suspect has original tires. It has a matched set of Goodyears 5.50 16 fronts and 11.38 rears fronts need replaced but rears are looking good to go for a while. if the cords don't rip when pulling something.

My dad's 47 H came with Goodyears. As the others said, it varied. I would guess it was whoever had the lowest bid that met their specs.

See that cabinet way up high, in the corner? The one you couldn't possibly see in the drawers? That's where he keeps the Green stuff!

Hold up here now! I dont any of us should be poking any kind of fun at this ole boy. See hes got it made. Hes got his computer, TV, and radio all in his shop there. Now I find that pretty smart. He can come on YT and ask questions, look at the archives etc.. while working on his Farmall, he can buy a restoration video and watch it to help him work on his Farmall, and crank up some tunes when he learns just how simple these things are.

IHC used Firestone, Goodyear, Goodrich and US Royal on new tractors at that time. A few new tractors were also equipped with Armstrong. Standard sizes were 5:50 x 16 front and 10 x 38 (11.6 x 38 new size) rear. Options were 6:00 x 16 front and 11 x 38 (12.3 x 38 new size) rear.

I don't usually nitpick, so please forgive me. That's 11.2 and 12.4.

Not sure on the H's, but I had a C that had Firestones that were original, and was at an auction where an M sold with original Firestones as well. I cannot remember much other than they were Firestones, and said "gum dipped". The tires on the M looked good for being around 60 years old, but I believe it has sat inside most of its life. The tires on my C expired in the late 60's.
