Hi

I'm in the process of restoring a Super C. The carb on it appears to be a Zenith 14544 carb, which does not appear to be original to the tractor. Is this carb sized appropriately for the tractor and does anyone know where I might find a rebuild kit for it?

Thanks!

Mark D.

Any good parts store should be able to get a kit. All they have to do is order one for that number. I took one off a Super C the other day that didn't even fit. It turned out to be one for an Allis Chalmers. It is not the same one you have.

Thanks for the response.

I am a little concerned about this zenith carb on the c since all the information I found on google for this carb were for other brands of tractors.

Mark, the original carburetor for a Super C was most likely a Carter. The Carter is decidedly NOT the best carb ever built, and quite a few of them did get replaced with a Zenith. If you are concerned whether the carb you have is correct for your tractor, match the carb number with the tractor it applies to, and then compare the engine size of that tractor to the engine size of your super C. If you need a rebuild kit, the number on the carb is all you need to know.
