How satisfactory would a 300 Utility be on a snowblower. I assume that most 300s have TA (which may or may not need work). I am also assuming that a 300U would have 3pthitch. Main question is: will the tractor be slow enough in reverse?

Jim is definitely right on the TA requirement. Make sure its a good working TA. Without a TA, it's just simply too fast even in 1st gear for some of the things I do without a snowblower. Snowblowing require a pretty slow ground speed and the TA accomplishes that.

Sure, assuming working TA, and live PTO. Great combination. Warm cloths, and a "Heat Houser" might be good additions, but no issue with power or speed. Hydrostatic drive is always best with a blower, and cabs are nice, but unless you are working for 10hrs on it to stay operational on a farm/ranch, I would say it is a great fit. They have a two point Fast Hitch system that can be converted pretty well to 3pt, or the tpt blower could be reconstructed for two point use. 2PT is much handier in cold "gotta get it hooked up" situations. Good luck, JimN

The tractor in question is at an upcoming collector's auction. All I have seen so far is a photo, it looks good in the photo, but then I've noticed that a lot of tractors pose well. How much $ goes a TA rebuild run (I expect a person may want to factor that into pur. price)?

600$ plus labor (split of tractor) not a bad job, just need stands and a cherry picker. It might just need a set of rollers and a ramp. which still means a split, but less expense. These units are not a problem, Our 350U still has the original TA nad it has been worked through two rebuilds, and a clutch. JimN
