Sorry guys to seem so demanding but I got real sick for several days and now have to play catch up. I finally got over to see the tractor tonight and none of the hydraulics work and the front loader hoses did vibrate a little when I felt them while working the controls. I checked the fluid level and it was a little overfull and after a little prying she admitted the neighbor changed the oil after it stopped working. A couple questions. First is there anything else simpler than the filter that could be the problem like what drives the pump is it a belt or is it internal and also when lifting the top of the case off what should I hook up to. I plan on using a come along but I also have an engine lifting chain with hooks on both ends. Thanks in advance for the help guys. Afterall those of you that read my first post know that Im only trying to help a poor widow lady

Well if the engine runs ya can rule out a sheared key on the pump. And if it has fluid then thats out . Now if it is air locked then you will have to bleed the air out of the pump and on top of the pump is a allen headed plug remove the plug and crank the engine over , i like doing this with the coil wire off and with the plugs out as i realy hate cleaning up the mess . Next would be checking for a stuck pressure releif valve or a pluged screen . Ya need a book to see what all needs to be checked.

Thank you very much tractor vet. I tried what you said and it didnt fix it but after that I learned of a tractor guy only a couple miles away and went and talked to him and he told me to run the tractor for a little while with that bleeder screw loose and when I did that a bunch of foamy fluid came out of the breather so I shut it off and tightened the bleeder allen screw and started her back up and all the hydraulics worked like a charm. Im sure that I just didnt crank her over enough as I didnt remove the plugs. Man am I glad that I didnt take the damn thing all the way apart for nothing
