Later on this month, I intend to go to eastern Iowa to pick up a corn sheller that I bought. I will be wondering from NC across Virginia, Wva, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois on the way there and maybe the southern route back through Ky and Tenn. For those who have restoration projects going, I am soliciting invitations to stop by and see what you are doing....I emphasize, a short couple hour "stop by" and not a week visit :-) I was hoping maybe I could see some interesting restorations and learn something as a bonus.

If you need help loading, or a place to stop for the night, let me know. I'm about 15 miles from Anamosa. Our place is small, but youi're welcome to bunk in the camper!! Just have to have the days right to see if we will be around. I have a 450 that I'm "restoring", but it's not at my place, and I'm quite the novice!

Tom, you will be going past here on US 64/74 if you return through cleveland TN and you could pick up that package I forgot to mail you. (my mind slips sometimes). We have quite a few people around here working on projects. I will send you an email about a visit here. Henry in Murphy(close by) NC

Tom: Great idea you have there. I'm not on your route, however I was down in western Ohio and eastern Indiana over the past nice sunny weekend. I saw many folks out tinkering with their old iron. Didn't have any names or addresses with me as I didn't plan on driving as far as I did before leaving home.

If you go on this site and you were one of those out tinkering with old iron, and you saw an elderly couple drive by in a white Chevy pickup with husband gwaking in your yard or at what you were doing and I might add with wife scolding him for almost going in ditch, it was very likely me.

I did tell Gary in Mozarks about my trip after getting home. He reminded me I was half way to his place, from my place.

Your welcome to come through and stop in Afton. However you would have to come father north of that Iowa place. I'm a litlle ways east of the Twin Cities, right near the border of Minn. and Wisconsin, a couple miles south of I94.

You're more than welcome to stop here in Central Illinois. I have a Oliver 66 RC, 400 farmall and a David Brown Case. My brother-in-law has about 8 tractors. He is currently talking of painting his Oliver 70. He has a Super MTA WF that he restored. He did a fantastic job on that one. We also have a sale coming up,(June, I think) about 3 miles down the road with about 70 tractors, most of which are Farmalls in various stages. We are 15 miles South of I-70 and Effingham, Il. Might be hard to catch, but if you call ahead??? Don't know if you would learn anything though. Lee

Tom, I'd invite ya to stop by, but well my tractor isnt being restored.

With work and all, it would be rather difficult to ensure a time I would be available.

Besides, who wants to see my old junky 300u. =)

I also think I'm too far north anyways.

You would be welcome to stop by here but sounds like your not going to come west far enough for you to do so. I always welcome people to stop in and say hi and look at the toys
