i have a hydro 70 great tractor BUT it put a rod out the side of the block 312 engines are hard to find and EXPENSIVE! i found a 310 out of a 715 combine and adapter plate to bolt 310 into the hydro70 my question is will flywheel from 312 out of the hydro 70 bolt onto 310?

Looks like you're going to need a flywheel from a 310-powered Hydro 86. Parts book also shows that the crankshaft used in the 715's 310 is different from the crankshaft used in every other application. I can't remember what exactly is different about it, think it has something to do with the pilot bearing, or possibly the flywheel mounting flange. All I know is that I've heard of guys running into flywheel snags trying to put 715 310's into 706's, ect. Have you looked for a D-360? Those were basically the same as a 312, and should be more common and easier to install than the 310.
