I may have missed it but how much quieter is your cab at full throttle now that you have installed the Fehr kit? On my 856 and Year-round, as others have said, it sure is some noisy.....

Well,

I went a lot further than just the Fehr kit.

I also installed two layers of sound deadening material under and around the rear hood area, behind the dash/kick area, under the seat to shut up those hydraulics and also down under the floorboard. Then, I put the Fehr kit in over the top in the conventional manner.

All I hear now is a dull low-frequency exhaust noise, which kinda sounds like a Dodge pickup exhaust with a Cummins diesel in it, coming in thru the cab filter area. I'm gonna add an exhaust extension to see if I can shut that up too.

All in all tho, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. 'Cause that's what I was after: More or less quiet like the newer tractors are.

And I see Allan has installed the latest in concealed snooze alarm/window control knob. Aaahhh, did I just let the cat out of the bag on this new option?!!!

I know I'm thick-headed, but what the heck are you talking about?

Sure looks like a comfy spot to spend a workday Allan! Beats the heck out of the homemade angleiron-and-plywood cabs we always had on our IH tractors!

Cold December wind made them homemade cabs look pretty good.

First of all...Wow. Nice job..

Second, what are your thoughts on how long that material will hold up to hard use (Winter weather, barnyard dirt, etc.) It seems my seats crack within three-four years and I am wondering if that extra material you installed will put up with the punishment.

Can't tell ya, Pard.

Guess we're gonna find out. :>)

The stuff looks to be the same identical material that came on the original cab. Way cheaper than thru CaseIH tho.
