From idle to full throttle, my engine doesn't sound like its peaking out. Can anyone give me a rpm range from idle to full throttle?

Jeff get a hand held shaft tack and put it on the PTO shaft and it should turn 585 R.P.M. no load (fast idle). That should have the motor running at 1600 engine R.P.M. Low idle is 625 engine R.P.M. and 230 R.P.M. on the PTO shaft.

My Super M runs 1,600 RPM at full governor and no load - which incidentally matches the "max idle speed" marked on the serial no. tag.

Low idle is 375.

Maximum governed RPM on a Super M is 1450. These old tractors rarely run at over 2000 RPM, they use torque, not HP to do the work and max torque RPM is where they are governed to.

Today's Featured Article - Sunday Drives - by Cowboy. Summer was finally upon us here in Northern Maine. We have two types of industry up here, one being "Forestry" (Wood Products) and the other "Farming" (Potatoes). There is no shortage of farm tractors and equipment around here! I have been restoring old Farm Tractors for the past 6 years, and have found it easier and less expensive to hit all the auctions and purchase whole tractors for parts needed. My wife who works at a local school, and only has weekends and summers off, while on t ... [Read Article]
