Where can I get some steel tubing to make new fuel lines for my SMDTA? Someone made them out of copper tubing but the vibration from the engine keeps cracking them. I'm sure the original ones were steel. I'm not very good at pipe bending and I've been using brake lines from the local auto parts store, but thats getting a little pricey. A 6' end runs about 12 bucks, plus that's the longest they have and its still not long enough for some of the lines. I don't want to run rubber hose, I want it to look somewhat factory. Anybody got any ideas?

I made my fuel line out of aluminum tubing. It bends easily without kinking. I also added a small bracket between the tank and filters to reduce vibration.

My second choice would be steel brake lines and
to double flare the ends. Hal

I would go with the hydraulic lines as Brad suggested or use Aeroquip, Alemite or Weatherhead
low pressure hose. You won't have any problems with vibration breaking them. Hal

you can bulk buy steel lines from napa, they come in 25 ft rolls, all different sizes. pick up a tubing bender there too, you can get the one that looks like a spring, they are about the least expensive, but they work pretty good.

I use hyd. hose for fuel lines. I do not show my MD it gets used for work so looks are not important. Maybe do a search on ebay for fuel lines or check out some salvage yards. I have the steel return line from the pump to the tank if you want it and the connections only leak a little. 8)
