Will a diesel 282 flywheel bolt on to a gas 263? I"m replacing the 282 in a 656 with a 263 out of a 615 combine. Flywheel in the combine will not work on the tractor.

What are you going to do with old engine? I am interested in some parts. E-Mail me at corn.sheller@hotmail.com and let me know how to contact you. Armand.

Why are you going from a diesel to a gas engine? Armand

Going from diesel to gas because the diesel is worn out. Those old diesels are hard to start even in good shape. The gas engine is like new, and readily available.

Best also look at the weight and Inertia differences. The diesel probably is greater for both which means the gas engine will NOT rev as quickly with the diesel flywheel.

I plan to use the diesel starter, that should eliminate the ring gear difference.

They may bolt up but parts book gives different part # for C291 and D282. Ring gear is different also.

The crankshafts are interchangeable on these engines. The flywheel will bolt up correctly.
