I see that the M is the same tranny as the w-6, it,s kinda hard to get in a good gear for cruising, cause they are sooo low,
Alll I can do with the 6 is to get it in 4th and then hope that other,s arnt going so fast then if I go into 5th and slow down, ill really be lugging it bad i cant start out in 5th cause i dont wanna slip the clutch,If I get an M then what do i do,?
the same thing?
It kind of kill,s it for me as a parade tractor,

I also have a W6 and take it on tractor rides. We live in the mountains and that is where the tractor rides are. It get a little slow on the hills but I catch up on the down hill side. When we get to the flat spots I can ride in high gear at a little over idle and I stay right in line. If it is a parade 4th at full throttle is about right. If you have problems get in the front of the pack and they will go at your speed. I love my W6 and have a good time with it. It gets a lot of looks around here because there are very few of them. Just have fun and don't worry about it.

But your right,
Yea it,s a cool tractor cause like you said there isnt many around, and the ones that are?
we have to perserve them,
i like the driving position too real comfy , I gotta get a pad for my seat though, it get,s kinda hard after while with that metal, so , I stand up alot and stretch my leg,s it,s cool for that too,

you need a SW6TA , or a SMTA ..... or if you don't want to spend that much , get an H or an M with a 9 speed - 300's are also pretty afordable

Hey Dave,
what about an 806?
I was looking at 970 no cab case,s too, but I kept coming back to IH,s,
Kind of strange, but I think for the better in the long run,
I think the 300 are just modern H,s, and the 450 is alot better I think for power at least?
I like the look of the mid 60,s IH,s, before they went to the late 60,s early 70,s look with that large block egg crate looking grille,

the 806 was one of the best tractors ever made ,,,,, ,plenty of power & gear selection for any tractor ride ! but i (personally) don't view them as "collectable" since i still farm with them & just recently bt a new one ( about 40 years ago - time flies ! ) - she's got 25,000 + hours & never been overhauled !

I really wish you would get rid of the W-6. All you do is complain about it.
