As was mentioned above, it seems to be an F4 onto which someone has bolted an old E4A non-automatic impulse coupling. Farmer mod, not factory. The magneto is a fairly old one, with 56K serial number. It could have come with an E4A automatic impulse coupling. What tractor is it on? a '36 F-12? If it were mine, I'd buy a different mag on ebay; they often go for about $40 including shipping. If you want to strip off the oddball parts and send me a picture of what's left, I can put together a package of what you're missing.

Looks like a F4 mag with a E4A impulse coupling,I dont know how a F4,or a E4A coupling will work

Yep, youre missing a couple of things. There is a coupler that goes in between the mag and the drive, but it looks like the coupler part on the mag is missing too. Ill try to dig up something to help. Give me a little while.

Heres another!
The first is the impulse, the second is the cover. This is the way all the F4s I have seen are, yours may be different I dont know. (Appolgies to the gentleman who owns the pics, but you did send me the cd for free 3 years ago, thanks for that)
