Are the I&T manuals worth buying? Or should I look for something else? I have a 300U, if that matters. Thanks for any help.

I have used both IT and mfg manuals. The IT manual is geared more for the mechanic who has some experience and only needs to know what the cross section of the unit is in order to disassemble and reassemble or repair.

The mfg books are much more detailed and most of the illustrations are taken from the parts catalog. The mfg manuals offer much more detailed step by step procedures.

My 2 cents worth and hope this helps.

I agree with Donwisc. I have few IT manuals that are Ok. But the IH service manuals reprints I received just last week from Binder Books for a IH 1066 and a Farmall 100 are alot more detailed.I bought ones for both the motor and chassy on both tractors. They pretty well cover every part of the chassy or motor.

They were pricier but worth the money.

Thanks for the help guys, I'd rather spend a little more and get a book that will offer more help than cheap out and be frustrated.
