Looking to purchase Farmall Cub, late 40"s model. Needs painted. Leaks a little oil from front seal of block but not a major issue. Generator not working, not sure of it is the generator or the wiring is bad. Smokes a little from the exhaust but a strong machine. Rubber is pretty good. Comes with all four wheel weights, woods mower and a homemade front snow plow. He is asking $2000.00 firm, delivery not an issue he lives close by. Any coments on the price and problems would be appreciated.

Don't worry about the generator, I 've had a 12 volt battery and no generator in my cub for 20 years. It will run all day on a charged battery. The cub is an excellant tractor for little jobs if you don;t have to change impliments. If it is what you need, go for it.

Buy it! I've seen Cubs go for more than that with no implements.

Some of the early Cubs did not have hydraulics, so wonder if this one does. That would be a factor in the price. Not too convenient to lift a snow blade or the Woods mower by hand, although I think the Woods without hydraulics on the tractor usually has a counterbalance spring.

Tony that is a fair price with the Woods mower and the plow. I would grab it at that price for Central Indiana.
