i am looking at a H multi fuel, and it has no serial number tag. is there any other way to get the year and a serial number (through cross sectioning other numbers, maybe). it is a nice h, starts right up, no smoke, belt pully, good tires, and live pto.

Yeah like he said. But was'nt real clear. On the right side right top corner of the engine block there should be a serial #. If it is the original engine then that will be the same as the serial number of the tractor. Is that better?

Yea, right above the mag or distributer/oil fill cap on a flat spot on the block.
