I have mixed feelings about venting this here on the forum but it seems that for the most part we are pretty level headed guys here. I have a son in the Navy and a son in the Army. The one in the Army finally got off base last weekend after being on lock down most of the week. On his way home he stopped at the mall to pick up some stuff and was stopped by a "Grandma Type" who thanked him for serving and protecting her and gave him a big hug. He had not gone 20 feet when some JERK looked at him and said "I hope everyone of you that go over there dies!" People we have some very ungrateful, sick individuals sponging in this country! If you can find the time please email or write anyone you know who is serving in the military and encourage and thank them! I would appreciate it if you would write to my son. His email address is gidoug@hotmail.com Thanks for listening.

Thank you to all who have sent e-mails and replys. It is nice to know that there are people out there who do appreciate what myself and my fellow soldiers do in this country. It is hard for us right now because none of us really know whats going on any more than you do. We all took an oath to defend this country against all enemies both foreign and domestic. Seeing all of the flags flying and encouragement we get just makes even more proud of what we have chosen. Again thank you for the support and we WILL continue to serve proudly to defend those who are what we fight for!

I was in the service years ago during the Nam era. I was on a flat top that cruised the Med more times than I care to remember. I do not regret a minute of the time I spent and I have said for years that young men should serve at least a short hitch to learn discipline and respect. I would not be where I am today (over $75k per year easy) without the training I received in the military. Chances are that the SCUM that jeered your son was not in the service at all. Just one more worthless TWIT running around sponging off those of us who have served, and are still serving, our country and work for a living. It is that kind of RUBBISH that tears this country apart. We should proudly fly the flag all the time and those that do not like it need to leave. Let them eat sand for awhile. Freedom of speech is OK up to a point. I know it will be hard to do but tell him to ignore TRASH like that. Tell him to stand tall and proud in that uniform.

What your sons need to tell people like the "jerk" that it is because of their service to this country they are allowed to express that stupid opinion. If it wasn't for these service people we could very well be ruled by leaders who would execute that "jerk" for expressing his opinions. Stand proud America. May God bless and keep all our service people under His care.

I sent your son an email saying that george W is going to open up his huge suitcase of WHUPP
a$$ on the arab world and that arabs in Kabul are looking for anything that looks like a shovel
and digging holes in the countryside because of the massive hammer that is going to fall. And that more than 90%of USA is standing with US armed forces.

My thoughts and prayers go out to every military person right now as we are entering into a new erra of fighting, one that they are not prepared to fight in. This situation calles for cool heads and communication amongst all US citizens and working together, this is what the terriorsts do not want. Tell your son that there are people out there who oppose our intervention and retallation, they do not understand that what he does is for everyone in the world. Bill.

I wonder how that JERK would feel if his wife or son or dad was killed in the World Trade Center collapse. I'll betcha he'd change his tune really quick! Kinda sounds like that woman from California who voted against the use-of-force resolution last week in the U.S. House of Representatives. She said that "someone has to maintain restraint in this situation." She'd be leading the charge if the attack and collapse occurred in her district!

I have nothing but total respect for the military. I have several family members and friends who have served, so I know a little something about it. One of my cousins is currently in the 82nd Airborne. It takes a special kind of person to put on his country's uniform and be willing to take a bullet. People like the aforementioned JERK have no integrity or guts to defend the freedom that the JERK takes for granted. He might change his tune if he had to live in a place like China or North Korea. (end of rant)

The Jerk obviously belongs on the other side.
General Patton once said that to win a war "The enemy has to die for there country for us to win the war" The Jerk just don't get it. May God and America be with you and your son's.

Our country has thrived for 200 years on the freedom of dissent. Somehow we need to love our freedoms without loving the JERKs who abuse them.

Yes there are some horses butts out there about the same as when i came home from Nahm i got spit on and called a baby killer buy some long haired freak but i let my mean streek get the better of me and we had a small riot at the air port and i did something that i should not have done i put the biggest case of whoop a$$ on him and the pulled my big buck knife out and gave him a trim . In my owen personal opinion i think that ALL males should serve two years in the service just to learn respect and athority. Just my opinion.

Sir:
It seems to me that the government should keep a list of these kinds of jerks, and send them in the first wave of an invasion. This way we wouldn't lose too many real Americans evaluating how strong the enemy is.
