My shifter will not go into reverse. It slips like it has a set screw loose in the rear end.
Mine has the shuttle forward-reverse shifter, and the transmission shifter. The shuttle shifter is the one that slips. Has anyone has this problem before, and how did you fix it? Thanks.

Had the same problem with mine, check your linkage. There is an adjustment on this linkage that you screw in or out. Hope this helps.

I can't answer your question but I am interested in finding out some information from you on your tractor as apparently there are not many 454/2400A's around. I have a 2400A which I understand is the industrial model of the 454. I have been fighting a carb and igniting problem with mine i finally think I have those solved, however the white wire off of the plug on the Alt. is open on the other side of the engine, I am trying to find out what it connects to. What do you use yours for, do you know what the HP is and do you have any Idea what these are worth. Mine is a 1975, gas with the c157 engine.
Thanks
Marv
