Ok mine is obvious I own an M, and The Red and 1PWRFULH are easy but some of you fellers are hard to figure out. Thought this might give us break from the grease and knuckle busters.

I needed a name for ytmag and thought it should be something to do with farming. I couldn't come up with one I liked and as they say the rest is history.

I have been using Farmall tractors for almost 45 years, but I'm pretty new to this forum. I just read mostly, picking up hints and information. I love every minute of it, too, by the way! Several years ago, I ran the popcorn machine for our athletic boosters concession stands at all the basketball and football games. I did it for 4 years straight, and thus became know (by some, anyway) as popcornman. I also sold several tons of the stuff when both of our sons were in boy scouts, and probably have eaten that much of it, too! OH, I am also Farmall43's dad.

I raced go-karts for 23 years, and sometimes forgot to keep the speed on the racetrack when I became old enough to get my drivers licence. After one of my "memory lapses" my mom told me I had a leadfoot. After I told one of my buddies what mom said,it stuck. Now I wish those "memory lapses" would stop happening about once a year!!$$$ Leadfoot

Not a reference to my hair (brown), just a condition of the brain. In our farm stable resides a 57-400, 74-574, 45-B, 46-A, 53-AC CA, 63-Oliver 1600, all working on a 120 acre cattle farm. The red ones are my obvious favorite.

The first time I posted to this , and other boards I thought about using PGA2 (my initials plus the 2 as I'm a junior). I decided against that for some reason and just used my name at first. Then someone suggested that we start adding our state of residence so folks would know where everyone was located. That's basically how mine works. Plus, I subscribe to the KISS principle too!

Mine came as a misprint. Back in the days of typewriters and secretaries my then boss used to call me "Stan the Man" after the baseball player. During a project assignment meeting he scratched STAN THE MAN in block letters on the sheet. The secretary dutifully typed Stan Theman from the list. It stuck and some of the old timers around the plant still call me by that name.

I work in a bank and got posted to do some country service. Kurow has a population of approx 600. When i moved back to the big city my colleagues thought that was hillarous. That was 15 yrs ago and it still gets used. I added the NZ bit for a bit of international flavour. A quarter to anyone who can tell be something sensible about New Zealand.(PS we dont have 1/4's)

Here you go: Since NZ is a right hand drive country, (cars on the left side of the road) no left hand drive cars are allowed, unlike other countries who do not care what side you sit on the car.

Kevin is my first name, Iowa is where I help dad run the family farm. I use to use kev in iowa or ia but changed because others used that style too and with it all run together with the @ gives it a very diffrent look. On the Combine board I have used UniMan because of my over 20 year envolvement with running and mataining those machines. I have also used another name when I thought sombodys post was full of it, havent lately as these guys want the attention, ignoring them makes them move on, I hope! I may have used yet another when I first started but don't recall.

I was born and raised in the country, but like a lot of people around here I ended up working in the big city.

My nickname was provided to me by my co-workers in the city. When I started working there I was known as "Little Man" (height 6',weight 325). About a month into my new job my boss was mad over something and called me a "Son of a B*%&?".

Well I did not take to this too well so I picked him up and placed him against a wall and advised him that if he ever talked about my momma again that I would get very upset. All he could say was; "I'm sorry Little Bubba, please put me down, please put me down will ya Little Bubba". I put him down and went back to work. That afternoon all of my co-workers started telling the boss that he had better watch his mouth or "Little Bubba" would be back.

That was 25 years ago, I have been called "Little Bubba" since. I never had any problems with my boss, or co-workers after that day. We all still work together and respect each other very much.

Ahaa, memories of the good old days.

Been away from the board a couple of days but would like to answer your question. I did a little flying in my younger days (thats before marriage and kids). My MOS in the army was 67C20, single engine, fixed wing, aircraft mechanic. Specifically, on the Otter.
Later, my CB handle was Barnstormer. My wife always accused me of trying to make the car fly (cruised at 85 in '70)
Now, it relates to the "difficult" conversations that we sometimes have and I "storm" to the barn.
Not really. She has been really good about my hobby as long as it don't involve her too much.
There it is.

"Ray" for the first name, "P" for the last initial, "(MI)" for the state. When I first started frequenting this board, I was the only Ray around. Then, others joined, I have contacted several, and suggested that they do as I have, and use their initial and state, so's you all can keep us straight! A RedBug is, as the name implies, a very small red bug that gets under your skin and itches like crazy. "It's a Southern thing" That describes what there tractors have done to me, "I have the Farmall itch" is putting it lightly. Plus the "Red" part speaks for itself.

I live in the country, But drive an hour to work in the city. At my place in the country, we have had goats, a horse, chickens, ducks, dogs, and cats. One time we had a BBQ for some people from work at home. The city people were in awe of the animals, and life in the sticks. My last name is also Hill. So after the BBQ they started calling me Hillbilly at work. End of story.

Mine's obvious too - first name last initial. Used it on my first post here a couple years ago and just sorta humg with it. I considered others like "Super Bob" (my tractors are an SH and SM) but that seems kinda pretentious. "12 volt Bob" might be appropriate on account of my alternator conversion stuff - but that implies don't like 6 volt electrics (which I do). "Red Bob" gets used on occasion at shows/parades - to differentiate me from friends "Green Bob" (a 2 cylinder guy) and "Orange Bob" (an Allis-Chalmers collector). And Mrs M has suggested a few - I hear 'em every time I come to clean up from a good session in the shop. Unfortunately(?) most of them are unprintable here.

Sooo - I guess I'll just continue with what's been working....Bob M

My name is actually John and that is the name I commonly use. My first initials are JC. Invariably, John is such a common name that someone in any sufficiently large group (such as my co-workers) begin calling me JC. I used to simply use JC on this board (I mostly read the board and post only occasionally) until I noticed one or more other JCs. Now, I reference my home state too.

Well, on my first day at a previous job I was sent to see the head mechanic (I am an engineer at an aerospace firm) in our building. I found him laying in a trench installing some hydraulic lines, and introduced myself. He looks up and says "Dang, your a big feller, ain't you?", except he didn't say feller, but it starts the same. I respond "well, not really, you're just laying in a trench and it makes me look big. He looks around and says "By golly I am, well, I'm a dumb feller, ain't I?". He took me into the next room to meet the other mechanic, and he was standing in an elevator pit, about 7 ft deep and looked up and said "Dang you're a big feller, ain't ya?". He had heard my conversation with the other mechanic, and I answered, "No, you're standing in a pit, makes me look big, guess you're a dumb feller, too." Well, the names stuck, I was Big Feller, except the word used wasn't feller, the head mechanic became Big Dumb Feller, and the other mechanic became Little Dumb Feller. Later on we got two more engineers and they were christened Little Feller and Medium Feller.

Well, when I started at YT, I had to choose a name and typed in big feller, except using the other word, and decided it wasn't appropriate, so I chose big fred instead. I'm 6'3", 260 lb.

Mine is pretty simple also. I live in Alabama (Bama for short). And I like IH Farmall tractors (sometimes affectionally called Binders).

Bama-

I'm new a relative newby to tractors and hadn't heard of "binder" being a term for Farmall. Can you tell me how/why? Are the "Binder" books folks who sell Farmall manuals doing so for that reason?

Dnoha is an old screen name I've used elsewhere for years. Dno was a network name I once used (computer names on our network were 3 characters) and is merely a shorter version of my nickname ("Dino"). "Ha" is the first two characters of my last name. Thus dnoha.

My nickname sometimes makes folks think I might be Italian. But my red hair gives me away as Irish, at least in part.

But as Shakespeare put it, "What's in a name?"

Mine is simple, it's my first name and first initial of my last. I used to use my complete name, but found I was getting a lot of junk mail and that a search of my name could bring up postings from all sorts of forums. I still get too much junk mail.

My nickname had nothing to do with Farmalls. Picked that one up in college and the Air Force when I had carrot red hair. Now it is snow white and falling out. :(

So it should follow that some day soon, you'll be known as only "The Head". Ha, Ha.

I'm new here, and have found "The Red" to be the one to read. Thanks for all the input.

I go back about 10 years with Doc. Currently I am a Paramedic. One night long ago, a patient called me Doc several times. That night I was on a new BBS (remember them?), and needed a screen name. Used Doc and have been ever since.

Mine goes back in history to when people were named to suit thier occupation, physical features, or place of residence, "grove" is a place of residence, in Norwegian this becomes my last name, the "r" is my first initial for Ron. Also, on the "Crawler and Dozer" forum, I like to use the handle, "Growzerbar", spelling is a tad off, but that makes it unique. What is "grouserbar"? It is a type of bar stock used for the build up of worn grousers on track equipment, that is the right angle piece on the pad that digs into the ground to give the machine its traction, like the lug on a rear tractor tire. Why did I choose this name? have no idea, just one of those dumb catskinner ideas, I guess.

Never realy thought anyone would be interested in all this, but now that you mention it..... Have a gooder, R.E.L.
