On the '55 300U I just bought there is a 3-point hitch that I can't find any info on. It doesn't look aftermarket but all the IH Fast Hitch service info I have found doesn't show anything like it. It has one horizontal ram to the left of the seat and that moves all three points. The cast cross piece that includes this moving top-point has a casting #36 4487 R1

Thanks for the info. I had already purchased the complete service set for the 300 from the Binders but it doesn't include the parts or the operator's manual. I didn't see a combo parts and Op set of manuals listed. Unfortunately the fast hitch you guys describe wasn't covered in the service manuals which only added to my confusion. Anyway, I think you have a good idea and I am getting the parts manual also. I'm not sure how much info is in the operator's manual so I haven't decided on that yet. Thanks again.

The operators manual covers all the service points, so you don't end up missing any lubrication fittings. The parts manual is nice because it illustrates how things go together, with tons of exploded views. They're a bit expensive, it seems, but I found them to be worthwhile.

Sounds like a factory Fast-Hitch to me. There were 2 or 3 different options for the rockshaft on the 300U Fast-Hitch. If you have a parts manual, the options are all illustrated. Yours sound like it is the same as the one on my 300U. I don't think you could get that moving top link option for the Farmall 300, and your service manual may have been written for the Farmall.
