thanks for all the help on my super h starter!
now my question is, this is the the serial #
on my "M" FBK238569X1 block under the #1 plug,
is this a true "M" number? (i'm new with farmalls)

Dave, THE RED is correct. You have a 1950 motor.
Your tractor may be a differant model year.

1950. You can find some serial numbers over in the serial numbers section under Research in the left tool bar. Select Farmall and then M, MD, Mv, etc. It will show the beginning serial number for each production year.
