Found a 1950 C this week that is in very good shape with a belly blade, two point plow and a sickle mower. The seat is bad and needs a belt for the generator but it runs like a top and does not have a dent in it. He want't $1000 for it cause he has located a MF that is a lot newer and bigger and his wife want's him to sell one before buying one. I have 3 Farmalls at this time and two still need restored, am I a fool for even thinking about it. Momma thinks so. She thinks I have a sickness and can't be happy with the toys I have.

If you're nuts then most people on this forum are insane. I've got 5 and still want more.

If you're sick, I'm sick too. I have a Farmall F-12, Farmall Cub, Farmall C, Farmall H, Farmall SM-TA, and a Farmall 400. I have three green ones, too, that I won't mention. I'm looking a Farmall B, a Super A, F-20, and maybe even a 350 or 450. I can't stop -- but like the others said, it's still cheaper than golf. The biggest expense I have these days is gas, oil, grease, etc.

I got 5 acres with two tractors, with dibs on a couple non-running Allises, and then I bought an old truck to haul tractors, now that's become a major project, and this weekend I found an A that I want. You ain't nuts if I ain't.

It's still cheaper than golf.

I've got six and looking for more. You can never have enough toys. See my lineup under the tractor photo section by searching for Joel Williams. Good luck and keep buying. Joel

What's bein' nuts got to do with it? Its a tractor and the price is right - buy it. I think bein' nuts is a real good excuse ta do what ya wants to do without catchin' any flak for it..."Honey, I couldn't help myself - I'm nuts!"

It is a "must buy".

You have an odd number now, and that may be bad luck.

I am holding at 28 tractors, all but three are Farmalls. So I need one more to make an even number of Farmalls. And then one more to make an even number of tractors.

I pity the guy selling it. Selling a tractor to buy a tractor is like having to throw up before you get to eat. It makes me sick to think about it.

Buy it! Better investment than the stock market these days. I paid $1000 for a 1950 C last fall that was not as good as yours sounds.

I think that $1000 for a C in good shape is a great deal. In regards to owning to many tractors, remember that old tractors dont die they just increase in value.

Go for it! If the tractor is as good as it sounds, and you continue to get heat at home, you can always sell it for a profit, don't tell her how much profit, and have some cash for fixing some of the remaining red iron. Good luck. Doc

Just park them in different sheds, and it'll be harder for her to tell how many you have. They won't be as noticeable....

Paul, I don't think you're nuts at all. Plus I think that your wife is very pratical like mine. $1000 is a lot of money to shell out but it's money well spent if it goes for a 50 year old tractor that hasn't been in production for about as many years, that's in relative excellent shape plus implements that you can either use or sell to recoup some of your money. If you were into antique cars I'll bet you would spend a lot more. I just returned from a two day, 150 tractor show and could have sold at least 5 or 6 Cub 54 blades if I had had them at the show.

I'd say buy it asap!//FB

Hey Paul, Ive got 9 "toys" in my barn and my momma thinks ive gone over the edge. Maybe I have. Just tell her about all the guys that have the RED FLU worse than you and she'll think she has a gooood man. It sounds like a great deal and I would jump at the chance to get it! Good luck!
