Follow-up on points and starter

As suggested I took the starter from my Super C in to be rebuilt. A sidelight of this is that it allowed me to access the flywheel so I could line up a distributor cam lobe to gap the points.

When I pulled the starter I noticed that the teeth on the starter gear and on the fly wheel were a little chewed. When I get the starter back those teeth will be new. Is that going to be a problem with the existing wear on the fly wheel teeth? If so, what are my options?

the chewed up teeth on the ring gear is why the starter wont work good you would be better off with a rebuilt starter that way you would have a new drive the drive alone is 30 exchange but you need a good ring gear you will find this out the bad teeth on the ring gear will spoil a new bendix

A "little chewed" sounds OK. If you have a bad chip or missing tooth on the ring gear I would be concerned, otherwise jsut run it.
