Raining heavy outside and I'm stuck inside, reflecting on life. Heaven help us all. Started visiting this group about a year ago. Have had Farmalls here on the farm since the first one was painted red so, the group is quite informative. Really a great bunch of guys and gals. Still have two 240s that get used daily, a row and a wide front. Bought the wide in 1963, nearly new. She has 11,000 + hours on the clock, but it only spins when it wants to. Had a 400, a 460, a Super "C" and probably a couple other I can't remember. Hopefully, one of you folks have rssurected the ones we sold and they are now proud "Show Tractors". If it isn't raining tomorrow, I'm headin' out to "show" the row crop. Need to "show" her where there is a woods-line to trim with her sicklebar. Might "show" the wide front where she can fill in some groundhog holes and a few other field chores with her loader bucket. These two have "showed" me for over forty years they're alway up to the task. Bought a brand new blue tractor this year with the ac cab and all the bells and whistles. Wonder what she'll "show" me years from now? Still, love my old "show tractors". Just checked again. Still rainin'.

LB, here in the middle of the State, I gotta hunt the little varmits with a bow. Waitin' for the neighbors to gripe about the loud "twang" disturbing their interloping piece of mind. We've been here since 1933. They've been here less time than than it takes to build another blame three story mansion. Moved out from Baltimore where they here multiple gunshots every night and folks gettin' killed right and left. But heaven forbid they here the "ping" of a .22 nipping an ol' hog. And, yup, got plenty of rain. Still doin' it now. Got stuff to do tomorrow. Hope it quits soon. Best to ya!

Hi Moose,

So ya got rain today uh?

Sun shinning on the shore, don,t see a lot of it due to being on the night shift though.

Will be glad to come over and help get rid of some of them groundhogs for ya.

Used to shoot them at a friends horse farm in the Wye Mills area on the shore. A couple of years ago he offered to pay us $2.00 for each groundhog killed.

Never took the money we used to make all kinds of bets between us as to who could make the best shot, distance of shot, standing or laying when shot was made, using a bipod, freehand, etc.

Got stopped this year, some people were scarred when they heard both a 222 and a 243 Remington and they live somewhat close to this farm.

They don't seem to mind deer hunting with a 30/06 or other rifle though.

They say that it is not right to shoot a little ol helpess ground hog, they never think about a race horse stepping into a ground hog hole and being runied and put to sleep.

Keep "showing" and working them red ones, they gotta earn their keep somehow.

Heck, they probably will even outlast that new blue one. They too also have AC, it is just a 1 to 15 mph model, and the temp controls don't always work very well with their open cabs.

Take Care
"Little Bubba"

Nice we could get some rain, haven't had quite an inch yet this week. Would have been as well to plant rice this year.
