We have bought the Farmall H! We are hauling it home this weekend. Does anyone know approximately how much a Super H with a bucket loader and a mowing machine attached would weigh? We are hauling with a heavy 3/4 ton Dodge pickup and a 22 ft. trailer. Thanks for any advice you could give us.

Hi Dan,I have a '51 H with a loader on it,1 set of rear weights, and loaded tires,I would guess it at around 6000#.I pull it to shows with a rusted out 1979 1/2 ton CHEVY,on a 20' long 7,000# rated trailer with brakes on both axles(the trailer weighs 1,450# empty).I bought the Reese weight distributing hitch set up(a regular ball & mount is only rated for 5000#,this set up is good for 10,000#).I also use transport grade 3/8" chain(rated at 6,600# vs.3,500# for regular chain)I've towed her around quite a bit this spring and summer and haven't had any trouble.

A farmall H (non super) is 3200 pounds. less fuel, air in tires, no wheel weights. the bucket and stuff add a few hundred more.

My Super H used to weigh 5250# with fluid & 1 set of weights. Weights are 145# EACH, so figure 300# for the pair with bolts; Fluid if the 11X38 or 12.4X38 tires are "FULL" to the top of the rim are supposed to hold just shy of 500# of calcium chloride solution EACH. I think HAAS is close on His estimates for the weight of the loader & mower. Sounds like You should be O-K with your tow vehicle & tandem axle trailer! Tie everything down good! If Your Super H falls off the trailer I may pick it Up!

With a 3/4 ton pickup and a heavy trailer, you will be ok, even if it is a Dodge.

Look here to see what the '99 Chevy 2500 has to haul! Wife says the color does not match though. However, I don't think that means she has approved a new truck.

Alternately, you could use a GM truck, but then you would have to hitch the trailer to the H and use the H to bring the GM home! My truck does great hauling a loaded H, built by Dodge, shaken by Cummins! -BTD

Only joking. I know the Dodge is a good truck. I prefer the GM because of the front suspension on the 4 wheel drives.

the H itself could weigh 5000 pounds with wheel weighs and calcium in the tires. add front end loader 750lbs . and 500 lbs for brush hog. my guess is 3 ton give or take a hundred. hope this helps. Speed Bump
