My 806 has a D 361 engine in it. A few months ago it started missing and stalled. It appeared to run out of fuel. Upon insepction the 2ndary fuel filter can was half full. I bled the system and the tractor started and ran fine. The hoses from the filters to the pump were not in very good shape so I replaced the lines and filters. When I bled the system after the repair it took the 2ndary filter can 2 hours to fill. The tractro started and ran fine with a fuel pressure in the 110's. Today I tried to cut hay. The tractor ran fine. After five trips around the field it spit and sputtered like it was running out of fuel. It did not stall and settled out and ran smoothly, However it would not build up RPMS to PTO speed even with full throttle. I let it set for a while and then started it again. It will not build up the RPMS. When given full throttle it misses. The fuel pressure is still up in the 110's. There is no smoke. It has a RD pump. Any ideas????? ???

Thanks for the ideas, The gas cap is new. THe thing that make this so hard to figure out is that it is not stalling. I can not get the rpms up and it misses at full throttle.

i flushed that tank when I replaced the lines and filters.

It was used for light work several times with no problems. Only the 2ndary filter can filled slow. Both cans have fuel, I have fuel pressure. The missing and low rpms appear at full throttle.

Sounds to me like the fuel tank is dirty or the line from the tank to the filters or somthing between the primary and final filters is partialy plugged. I suspect this because it took the filters so long to fill while you were bleeding the system. Was the tractor sitting before you cut hay today? If so it sounds like the fuel in the filters burned off after the first five rounds, and the fuel coming from the tank couldn't get there fast enough due to the plugged lines, and the system airlocked.

Is the fuel tank cap gasket or cap shot?? If so, it may get "air locked" and stop. Check for sediments in the tank too.

Be sure to use a water seperator filter on your farm fuel supply tank. The IH RD pump will tolerate ZERO water in the fuel!!!
