If I find a Super C with all the water pump components can I convert my 1949 C so it can use a water pump? Some people are telling me my block is different. Thank you, Kurt

I'm curious as to why you are doing this. My Super A was equiped new with a pump but no thermostat. Always runs too cool. Kinda wish it was just thermosyphon.

Hello David. I will be removing my radiator to have it boiled out. Since I have had problems overheating while mowing, I thought I would cure it for good while the radiator was out. Are these tractors able to work hard without the water pump? Thanks, Kurt

With an overheating problem, I guess your right looking into waterpumps. But I would also add the housing that provides a thermostat. After mowing in the summer I can still hold my finger in the water - can't be more than about 120 deg. In the winter I can't even get the water hot enough to warm a cold finger. There were thousands of thermosyphon machines made and I'd kind of concluded from other postings that the system works fine under most conditions.

The water pump bolts right on in place of the lower radiator neck (2 bolts I think). Check your generator mounting bolts in case one of them is a different. I don't remember if one uses a stud instead of a bolt, etc. Also replace the upper radiator neck that bolts to the head with 3 bolts as that allows you to mount a thermostat and the sender for a temperature guage.
