Will a gas tank off a straight "C" or "B" fit on a Super C and look right? I can get one from a C worth the money, but will it fit OK?? SuperCmore

Brackets are deeper on a Super by about one and half inches. The supers C radiator is taller along with the front middle section of the grill and this requires the gas tank to be mounted higher...if ya want to be factory perfect. If its a working tractor, use either as it can be "made" to fit. Got one myself that was made to fit. It runs and looks OK if you don't tell anyone.

So that explains it!! When I was a kid back in the 60's, we put a radiator from an A into our Super C. The radiator was about 1 1/2" short!! Another one of lifes great mysteries solved. The things that you learn when you're not looking for them!! Thanks. You have no idea how good this makes me feel!!

If I remember correctly from the super C I used to have, the tank is the same size, but, the mounting brackets underneath are different from a C. The super C tank sits a little higher to match the increased height of the hood, which is higher due to the taller radiator. The B tank mounts are like an A, which is different from a C or super C.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract. ... [Read Article]
