Did each series of -4 tractors (ie;W-4,O-4,etc) have it's own set of serial numbers or were they all combined? I have been looking for several years and haven't seen any with a lower number than my '41. Know there has to be older ones just not being listed. BTW mine is OBH-1921, IH shop converted to an I-4. Come on guys, where is a really old -4? DaveM

Hello, I have a 1941 o-4 McCormick, the serial number on it is 1745. Would you happen to know what size of tires came out on the rear of these tractors, the rims are 9x24. Thanks, Chris

If I understand corectly.the whole 4 series was lumped together.For example.=BH 12211 could be a W.-BH 12212 could be an I,-BH 12213 could be an O.Again just examples.

I belive that the O & I seris were lumped together. They were produced starting in 1940 with serial number 501.

Restoration Story: 1964 JD 2010 Dsl - Part 2 - by Jim Nielsen. Despite having to disassemble the majority of my John Deere 2010's diesel engine, I was still hopeful I could leave the engine-complete with crankshaft and camshaft-in the tractor. This would make the whole engine rebuild job much easier-and much less expensive! I soon found however, that the #4 conrod bearing had disintegrated, taking with it chunks of the crankshaft journal.
