Considering buying M or Super M. Want to run a concrete mixer off the PTO This is a 3 point set up with the top link being Hydraulic. It works like this... Tractor running and in neutral, PTO is turning the mixer. After mixer is in the proper position the lower lift arms are disabled with wood blocks. The hydraulic top link is used to raise and lower the angle of the mixer to load and dump the concrete. I will need to be on the ground standing next to the mixer. Is there any problem in doing this with this tractor? I know of the safety issues... I am already using this mixer on another tractor that has add on motor driven hydraulics so I know how to set it up...

Feed back is appreciated...

John

The M does not have live hydraulics, and the lift all pump only puts out about 800 psi. That should be enough depending on the size cylinder you have. You will need a spool valve to control the cylinder, something the M does not normally have. The M normally only has single acting hydraulics. You would have to lock the lift all in lift mode and put the spool valve down stream in the pressure line from the lift all and run the return into the fill port of the lift all reservoir. If you get a super M with live hydraulics, it would be a different story. You would still likely need a spool valve added in a location handy for dumping.

Think someone had a similar question a few weeks back. First, the M won't likely have a 3 pt hitch. Also consider, unless you have a SM, it wont' have live pto. Last, the hydro control valve (normally) is located near the front of the tractor.. Not in reach of someone operating from the rear on the ground. And last, since you get on and off of an M from the rear, take into consideration the safety issue that you probably wouldn't have from one of it's newer cousins, such as a 460U..
