I am in the process of restoring a w30 1935 I got it all overhauled and picked up paint at the IH dealer, who assured me that red was the correct color, so I could paint the engine while putting it back together. Now that I got the engine painted and the hoses on and the exhaust I find out that the correct color is grey I hate to have to tear everything back apart to paint over, does it really make a difference what color I paint it?

It's good a person is not required to pay for any advice they recieve on this forum. A W30 like all McCromick Deering tractor were painted gray until Nov. 1936 (that"s when the 1937 models were introduced). If you want to keep it orginal paint it gray, if you want a red tractor paint it red.
