Here are some pics of some NOS IHC marked Temp Gauges I acquired today. The 49040DB is for the H and M, and the 53619D is for the A and B.. If you look at the sizes of the IHC hark, and the Color zones, you will see that the mark is larger on the A,B gauge, and the zones are smaller. This is the same with the NOS 41934D oil gauge I have on one of my 39 Hs. I have been looking for these suckers for a long time, as nobody reproduces an IHC marked gauge that meets the quality I expect.. Best of all, these gauges work perfectly..

Made in Rochester NY! Don't you need to drill and tap the top of that little vertical cylinder on the front of the block, carb side?

On the A and B, there is a special lower radiator inlet that is drilled and tapped for the sending unit. The gauge on these tractors actually mounts up on the governor housing. The gauges were a special option, so not many tractors have them. They were more common on the kerosene & Distillate tractors..

I saw a B at a show last Sept that had a temp guage sending unit on the top of that cylinder. It looked stock, and had me thinking about doing that to mine. I'd really like to know its temp; ie when I should let it cool down - running a liquid cooled machine without a water pump has a way of doing that! Thanks

Justin,

Great looking gauges. I have been hunting for a temp gauge for my M. The cable is trashed on the one I have. Can you tell me where you obtained these?

Thanks! BTD

They had actually been advertised on a web site for 3 years.. took a chance and called.. they cost me some money, but I think they were well worth it..

I am not certain, but I believe one is for 160 degrees and the other for 180 degree thermostats.
