As already posted, the 2404 is the industrial version of the International 404. It was built as the International 2404 or as the International 2404 Lo-Boy. Check serial number for year model. The number after the year is the starting number for that year model. 1961-501, 62-1045, 63-4205, 64-6452, 65-8292, 66-9548, 67-10534, & 68-11032. Horsepower is 33.47 dbhp and 36.70 pto hp.

The difference between the 404-2404, 424-2424, & 444-2444 is the 2 means it is a industrial version. Usually stronger front axle and such, but same motor and drivetrain. Bill {Antique Acres}

Hi Glen, I was wondering the same thing about my #2424. I was in the prosess of fixing the temp gauge and I found that the back of the guage cluster had April 1965 stamped on it. As for HP. I have found that the serial # info for the IH Ind. iron, is not as thorough as for the red tractors, on this site, and on others. 2404 vs. 240 could be color, grille and trim, and maybe 2pt. vs 3pt. and drawbar. But cheer up, this forum is full of people that know absolutely everything about this breed!! Good luck. J.
