On my track frames of my 931B, it looks like a piece of round bar was welded across the back of the frames at the sprocket end. I don't know if it's factory or not. Except for a short piece of bar on one side and the welds remaining on the track frames, nothing is left. Both rear rollers were completely shot and wore grooves in the plate above that joins the track frame halfs. I don't think the grooves matter too much and can be easly filled up with weld, but I'm not sure about the 1 inch or so round bar that was welded in. I don't even know if it went all the way across. It looks like they all broke out of the weld except for one side that still has a short piece of bar that's been rubbing on something. Probably the roller shell that was flopping all over the place? Any ideas? Dave

That is probably the remains of the rear rock guard that has worn off. It probably wouldn"t hurt to look at another machine to see what it is supposed to look like and fab up a new set. They not only keep rocks out of the sprockets, they also help to keep the tracks aligned going on to the sprocket in reverse.
