The hydraulic adjuster on the left track appears to have blown a seal as I cannot get the track to retain its adjustment. Is it possible to remove the hydraulic cylinder without removing the track?
If so, how?

Well I just bit the bullet and took off the track
and the front idler slid right off along with the adjuster. Then it was a simple job of removing piston, discarding old seals, and installing new seals. reassembly is reverse. In the end, the beauty of older rigs is that they are relatively simple to fix if you put your mind and hands on it

To my knowledge, it is not possible to pull the tensioner cyl bore off without pulling the idler out of the way (splitting the track). If it is similar to a 350, (which it should be) I don't think there is room enough to unbolt the adj yoke from the idler and have room enough to swing it up or out or in any direction to clear the piston, but hang out here a while, and if someone else has the answer, they will certainly let us all know about it. Good luck.
