I'm looking for any info. on, the location of the hydrolic pump for my FIL's TD9.

The pump was working on one day, then he left it parked for a couple of days, went out started the crawler, and the hydrol. would not lift the blade.

He shut it down, left it for one day, started it up again and the hydrol. worked. He used it to plow snow all that day, parked it in the tractor bay, went out yesterday to plow some more, and the hydrolics will not work.

A little background is warrented here!!!..... .. My FIL is 81 yrs. old. God only knows what hyd. fluid he is using. He says the last time he put fluid in it, was to top it off last summer.???

I'm leaning toward condinsation in the lines???? Or possible worn out pump.

Need help here. We need to plow his road out, so he can get in and out.

TIA

T-n-T;

Thanks for the reply. Yes he does have the other blade for that crawler.

He says it is bigger, Taller and wider, than the 2way brush blade. He usually takes the brush blade off during the winter and uses the other blade for snow plowing.

We have to fig. out what is going on with the Hydrol. due to the fact that he wants to sell the TD9, and get a med. size backhoe.
I told him, Can't sell what don't work!!!third party image

If we get it goin', I'll post back with the results.

Thanks every one, for the help.

I think its probably ice in the lines,too, but I've also see worn out pump couplings that will sometimes grab and sometimes not.
I've never seen a reversible brush rake/blade like that. It looks like it could be kind of handy. Does he have the angle blade that goes on that c-frame, too?
The cab on that tractor was made about 50 miles from me, in Medford OR, by Medford Steel and Blowpipe Co.

TD-9 pump should be down under the radiator mounted on the front of the crank.

You didnt say what the weather conditions were but I would assume that its getting cold over night just like here. Check the inlet to the pump and see if there is water in there.Water will collect in the lowest points and freeze.If it is warm out (above freezing) crack all your low points and drain off water. Retry your hydraulics and if they work change all your hydraulic fluid. Give this a try it doesnt cost anything if its not water but it sounds like it is .
